The Real Housewives of Orange County

Now, I'm sad that this season of The Real Housewives of Orange County has come to a close. However, the finale was fantastic. I've never seen them fight like that, and it got intense at moments. The "physical altercation" made for some wonderfully juicy reality television. In the meantime, I've got The Real Housewives of New Jersey to look forward to in terms of satiating my desire for some more off-the-wall "reality". You've got to see the season finale of Orange County if you haven't though!

Let's hope the ladies have a fun "dramatic" summer!

Here are the lovely ladies...

Here's a personal favorite segment...

The Hangover II

I really did love The Hangover II. It was hilarious and super raunchy! I was laughing out loud the whole time. However, I didn't love it as much as I loved the first film. Maybe, it was because I have such an affinity for Las Vegas that I enjoyed the first movie more. Definitely go see it if you want a big laugh.

Also, this trailer above has two quotes from my boyfriend Rick Florino! That's pretty awesome!!!

Deadmau5

I've just come to the conclusion that Deadmau5's most recent album, 4X4=12, is one of the best electronic music releases in a long time. I've always loved Deadmau5, but now I've recently taken the time to really get into this particular record, and it literally gets better with every spin. He has this unique style, that's both futuristic and tribal all at once. I really can't wait to see him when he plays the Palladium in Hollywood...I'll be there and ready to dance for sure...

Here's a video....

Getting Haunted at Disneyland

Okay, so Disney should make more horror-oriented stuff, because they do such a fantastic job at it. This creepy head in the seance room at The Haunted Mansion is terrifying! Is this stuff really for kids?

Laney Goes Swimming

I haven't seen very many puppies swim, but Laney, my little Boston Terrier, absolutely loves the pool! Recently, while I was down in Houston, Laney took a dip in the pool with my boyfriend, and she swam incredibly! She also looked beyond cute floating in the lounge chair in the middle of the pool. Here are some pictures...Can you even imagine anything cuter than a six-pound, three-month-old Boston Terrier swimming in a pool that's way to big for her? Nope, I can't...

Star Wars Ride at Disneyland

It just opened up, and after a near-95 minute wait, we embarked upon our journey to a Galaxy far, far away. It was definitely fun and better than the original "Star Tours", however, is anything really worth waiting that long for, especially a ride? The 3D was cool, but it felt more like one of the new movies than the old classics. Overall, a fun time, but wait for the lines to die down...

Disneyland

I went for the third time this year yesterday, and it was pretty breathtaking and magical to say the least. I love Disneyland! The best rides for me are Space Mountain, Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters, Peter Pan's Flight, and Thunder Mountain! It gets better every time I go...

Arnold...

Given everything that's going on with Arnold Schwarzenegger right now, I wanted to share my favorite video of the Predator-smashing greatest action hero of all time. Now, the video embraces two things I love Arnold and electronic music. Enjoy...

Scary Movies

I love them beyond all words, however, I truly can't watch them! It's been over a month since I watched Paranormal Activity and Paranormal Activity 2 again and I am still freaked out! I don't know what it is, but those movies are terrifying. It's not so much during the viewing, but then the real fear comes afterwards. I don't want to be a chicken, but those movies are way too scary for their own good!

Laney is the Cutest Dog Ever

There are a myriad of reasons why my baby Laney is the cutest dog in the entire universe. However, a picture really is worth a thousand words. Check out these two pictures of Laney, the best Boston Terrier ever. She is beyond cute, and I just figured I would share my two favorite photos of her!

AND........

Can you even think of anything cuter? I dare you to!

Alligators in Houston

I've seen a lot of interesting and cool things in my day, but not much compared to seeing almost 20 alligators at Brazos Bend in Houston! It's this  expansive park with various hiking trails where alligators live and roam free. I couldn't believe how close you could get to them!

Training Laney

So training a puppy is NOT easy, for the faint of heart, or for people with  new rugs. I love Laney so much, but she's still doing #1 and #2 everywhere. We take her out as much as we can, and she's slowly but surely getting more adept and comfortable with going outside but it's a challenge!

Does anyone have any puppy training tips?

Feel free to comment!

Interior Decorating

Over this long and arduous, yet extremely exciting process of moving, I've realized a couple of things. My boyfriend is a hoarder (see previous blog entries for more on that), I appreciate sleep now more than ever, IKEA is my new best friend, and finally, that I love interior decorating! I've had so much fun arranging every little detail of our new home. It's got a chic, yet welcoming vibe. I've put so much time, care, and diligence and to making our home the best ever. I've watched a lot of decorating shows and read many magazines, and it all contributes! Maybe, I can get a side job interior decorating?

Sundays are for Sleep

I finally got to sleep in today! In fact, my whole family, my boyfriend and puppy, collectively slept until 2:30 pm. Now, we're all extremely refreshed and not only ready to face the day, but  ready to face the week! There's nothing like resting on a Sunday. It feels oh so grrreeeatttt!

Laney is a Little CRAZY

I absolutely love my dog, but she can get a little nutty! In fact, I recently witnessed her knock over the baby gate that keeps her confined in the kitchen when we go out! She is only 6 lbs, and she steamrolled right through it like a little canine Terminator! I couldn't believe it...hasta la vista sleep!

Here is a picture of her hiding out in the DVD case!

Branches in the Living Room

Okay, I need some help. I purchased these two sets of black branches and large exotic looking vases to flank my television set, and they just look a little too dead for my taste right now. Does anyone out there have any suggestions on how to brighten them up? I went to numerous stores, Michael's, Target, etc. in order to find flowers or something to add color, and there's nothing! Where can I get a cool accoutrement for these?

Laney's Shots

I'm taking my puppy to get her last shots in a couple weeks , and then she's all done! She can finally go outside, walk, and play. I really am looking forward to walking her around the neighborhood and seeing her reaction.

Sunglasses Just Won't Fit Him

So after going to three stores in Huntington Beach and scouring other locations, I still can't find cool sunglasses that will fit my boyfriend's ginormous head! Can anybody out there help with suggestions on where to find slick-looking sunglasses for someone with a big noggin? HELP!

Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses

So, as a moving present, my boyfriend surprised me with a pair of gold Dolce & Gabbana Sunglasses! There are the most gorgeous and sleek sunglasses that I've ever seen. I love them! I haven't had a chance to wear them just yet, but I will soon!

My New LED Televison

I just got a 46" Samsung LED HD TV for our living room, and all I can say is, "Wow"! I was watching The Real Housewives of New Jersey and it was so clear I could see the pasta bubbling on screen and see every one of the people on the show's blemishes—maybe not something I want to see, but that's how great the quality is. Most importantly, Call of Duty looks so vibrant on the screen. I felt like I really was at war!

Chris Cornell Is One of the Greatest Singers Ever

Recently, I had the privilege of seeing Soundgarden and Audioslave singer Chris Cornell play a stripped-down acoustic set at The John Ford Amphitheatre. It was nothing short of breathtaking! Hearing him play songs like "Black Hole Sun" and "Fell On Black Days" acoustically sent chills up my spine. Plus, I got to enjoy a glass of wine while watching the show. There was one diehard drunk fan dancing to "Burden In My Hand" trying to encourage everyone to stand up! It would've made for a hilarious YouTube video, but more importantly Chris was amazing.

Guess What I Found….

While I was moving, I found 13 canisters of unused Axe deodorant that my boyfriend was HOARDING!!! He needs to quit the hoarding, reference a previous blog for an explanation of his problem. I'm going to have Dr. Drew intervene soon. The craziest part was some of the deodorant was expired! No more hoarding now that we're in the new place! That's the last word on that.

Houston Trip

I had a layover once and was in Houston, but I went for a Memorial Day mini-vacation with my Boyfriend. It was so exciting! His mom has two big Golden Retrievers that I had a blast playing with! Also, even better news, we brought Laney!!! You can see her traveling below!

People that Could Be Characters in Napoleon Dynamite

Now, I don't know if there's something in there but lately I have met many people that seem like characters from Napoleon Dynamite. It's not that they're bad. They're just quirky and a little strange like that girl in the movie who had the ponytail on the side of her head. There's nothing wrong with it, it takes all kinds to make the world go round, but there are a lot of folks I've met recently who seem like they hopped off the screen…

Going to Warner Brothers Studio Lot for the First Time

Was an awesome experience! The lot is so genuinely cool. There is all of this history and so many amazing movies have been made there. You could practically feel it when I stepped through the gate. I was excited to be up close and personal with all of it, and it makes me even prouder to be in this business.

Living in the Hollywood Hills IS All It's Cracked Up to Be!

Okay, so you always hear about celebrities moving up to the Hollywood Hills. I'm proud to say that I'm in that elite club now, hahahaha. I just moved into a spectacular new place right by Runyon Canyon. It's got an incredible view of the city, and it has a chic feel (thanks to my decorating). I love the place so much because it's also perfect for Laney to run around and. The air is a little cleaner for L.A., and it's spacious!  It's the perfect place for me to do publicity out of as I'm in close proximity to everything entertainment-related.

My Puppy Laney

So, a little over one week ago, my boyfriend and I welcomed the best puppy in the entire world into our home! Her name is Laney and she is a three-month old Boston Terrier. She's only 6lbs, but those 6lbs can run extremely fast and don't get tired either. She's beyond loving and cute! When she falls asleep on the couch, she has this lilting snore and her little pigtail quivers. She also really loves lying in the sun when it comes through the window onto the carpet. She's still getting used to the whole "doing her business" on the puppy pads thing, but she's almost there! I can't believe how in love I am with Laney! Soon she is going to be big enough to go hiking at Runyon Canyon with us!

Summertime Is Almost Here

It's June which means a couple things. First off, summer is around the corner. Secondly, my birthday is coming up on the 20th! Start preparing now…

Dolor Has Taken Over My Life

I’ve written about it before, but the more I think about this book series, the more I seriously love it. Rick Florino is the architect of one of the most intriguing, horrifying, memorable, and powerful worlds that I’ve ever allowed myself to fall into with his brand new novel DOLOR: Books I-V. This collection features the first five books of “Dolor”. Dolor is a town you wouldn’t want to visit. It’s been burned to the ground, and a lone FBI agent is sent to check it out. He finds one house standing in the town, while everything else is ravaged. In the house, there are ten small diaries. Each diary is the diary of someone who died in the town on the day that they died. This collection contains the first five diaries. “Decker” diary four is utterly demented, but it’s my favorite. However, I also love the first diary “Lila” because of the possessed Teddy Bear and the relationship between the father Caleb and Lila. The story reminds me of Stephen King and Dean Koontz but there’s a new, fun, and fresh rock ‘n’ roll twist. It’s like “Twin Peaks” a little bit, yet it’s in a category of its own. You have to read it to truly understand. Plus, the author is the cutest guy I’ve ever seen. He’s only 26 too grrr…

The Big Four Rage On Through Indio

I’ve been a lifelong Metallica fan, and believe it or not I never had the pleasure of seeing them live. My older brother introduced me to them when I was very young and their CDS “Ride the Lightning”, “Master of Puppets”, and “The Black Album” have been the soundtrack of my life. Even though I’m a total house music freak now, I still love them. So, I got the opportunity to see Metallica in all of their live and loud glory at The Big Four in Indio, California yesterday. They were beyond mind blowing. They played all of my favorite songs “Sad But True”, “Fade to Black”, “Master of Puppets”, “Am I Evil?”, and “Enter Sandman.” Everything sounded so powerful live. They’re amazing, and I was completely stunned at how moved I was. I even got to go hang backstage, but did not get to meet singer James Hetfield—that just means I’ll have to see them again!

Hyro Da Hero Will Save Hip Hop

It has been a long time since someone in rap truly moved me. I’ve been so transfixed by house and electronic music that my iPod rarely switches from those club jams I love so much to something outside of the genre. However, I’ve discovered the best rapper that I’ve heard in over a decade. His name is Hyro Da Hero. He’s originally from Houston, but he lives in Los Angeles now. His debut album, “Birth, School, Work, Death” sounds like Rage Against the Machine with 2pac singing instead of Zack De La Rocha. Every song explodes with guitars, drums, and bass instead of simple samples. My favorites are the fiery opener “Grudge” which calls out Lil Wayne and the trippy industrial closer “System Overload.” He just did a sold out tour of the UK, and he’s going to take over America next. Get on this now before he’s bigger than Kanye West…

Blogging for Apples

Okay, so I really do love writing this blog, but I only want to write after I’ve compiled numerous significant experiences, can appropriately process them, and then write about them in a compelling and intriguing manner. The point that I’m at now is my life is whizzing by at lightspeed and it’s exhausting, but it’s so much fun and I really feel like I’m on an incredible path that will shape not only my career but my happiness as well. Along the way, I’ve met some incredible new people and experienced some amazing events, concerts, movies, and shows. Now that I’ve got a slew of moment to catalog, I can give everything its proper due with this array of blog entries. Enjoy…

Always Wanted to Run a Club? Get TiĆ«sto’s “ClubWorld” from Tapulous

Okay, so hanging out at your favorite nightclub and dancing the night away to “Somewhere” and “Move For Me” is awesome. We all know that! However, there’s nothing better than actually running your own nightclub. Tapulous’s new iPhone and iPad app “ClubWorld” let’s you do just that, while listening to TiĆ«sto, of course. With a soundtrack of “Club Life Vol. 1, Las Vegas”, users can pick and choose every element of their club, basically this is “The Sims” for clubgoers. You can set up your nightspot however you like and success is measured by how bumpin’ the dance floor is. The music is transcendent as TiĆ«sto is behind the decks and the game is completely and utterly addictive. This is a new must-have app because let’s face it we can’t be at Drai’s every night—though that would be fun.

Sometimes Music Is Just Better Live

I am not into Slayer. I think they are mediocre at best. To me, every song sounds the same. However, I saw them play before Metallica at “The Big Four” in Indio, CA, and they were quite good. I dug how fast and tight they played, and I enjoyed that they got the crowd rev’ed up. I couldn’t name one song but I had fun watching them. I’m not going to buy one of their CDs anytime soon, but it was a good show. So, the moral of this story, is always give a band a chance live.

Olivia Sahagun Photography

Olivia Sahagun infuses a tangible warmth into each and every photo she takes. It’s as if her shutter actually captures emotions. Her photos are vibrant and entrancing. There’s a simplicity to her elegance which makes for stunning portraits with unique lighting that highlights every bit of beauty in a subject’s visage. She’s also able to incorporate landscapes gorgeously. These photos will make you happy.

Incogdealo Is The Way to Go

Alright, everyone loves coupons. However, you never want to seem like a “coupon shopper” because it just feels a little, well, low rent. Incogdealo is the brilliant solution to that conundrum. Once you sign up for the web site you receive all of these amazing money-saving offers at local Orange County restaurants, but you never have to show a coupon. Rather, it emails you a code to write at the bottom of your check when you get it and the server automatically knows what to discount. You simply write the code “in cognito” and you get your discount without seeming cheap. I can’t really think of anything better. Sign up now. It’s more than worth it with the money you’ll save and how cool you’ll feel.

“Rain” Over Me

I had the pleasure of seeing the last night  of“Rain” at The Pantages Theater in Hollywood Sunday night, and it was so great! I’m not the world’s biggest Beatles aficionado and still I knew every song. They replicate the song’s maintaining their integrity while infusing a new modern panache. What was most incredible was how much the performers resembled the original Beatles. It’s a show not to be missed by any and all music fans.

Hoarding Should be Illegal

I recently cleaned an apartment that had over 1,000 DVDs and 2,000 CDs lying around the living room. Apparently, the denizen can’t throw anything that he gets away. I don’t understand why people keep stuff for so long! And just because someone gave you something doesn’t mean you have to keep it forever! Good Lord, tidy up and stop hoarding!

Boston Terriers

There was a small chocolate Boston Terrier at Moondoggies in Rancho Cucamonga in the mall that I used to work at. The instant that I saw this little angel, I fell head over heels in love with her. It wasn’t the right time for me to get a puppy when I first met her, but now it is. I may not get her, but I’m going to get another tiny Boston Terrier and name her Venus after Venus in the “Crank” movies, and we’re going to live so happily ever after in our new apartment.

Krystle Lina Photography

Okay, Krystle’s photos are so sexy, edgy, and bold that she should be snapping for “True Blood”. Her aesthetic could draw blood it’s so sharp, and she uses light to capture the darkness in her subjects. She doesn’t take photos; she creates vignettes into the psyche right to our most carnal primal desires. These are photos you won’t forget and Krystle Lina is a name to remember.

Benihana Is Always Good Especially If You Had A Bad Day

Monday was not good for a myriad of reasons. So what did I do to cure my case of the Mondays? I made a reservation at the Benihana of Beverly Hills on La Cienega and I enjoyed some spicy hibachi chicken, soup, salad, and a nice cold margarita. No matter where you go Benihana is consistently awesome. However, the Beverly Hills location will always have a special place in my heart as will that Spicy Hibachi Chicken.

I Am Queen Zombie Smasher, Hear Me Roar

My latest and greatest obsession is the iPad edition of “Call of Duty: World at War – Zombie Edition”. Now, I’ve gotten so deft at playing this game, I can pass at least 20 levels and kill over 300 zombies with almost half of my kills being “headshots”. It’s tense, it’s terse, and it’s tough—just the way I like my video games. You can hear zombies creep up behind you, bellowing these guttural growls and if you don’t turn in time to blow their heads off you’re dead meat—literally. There are two maps. One is a war-torn bunker and the other is what appears to be a dilapidated mental hospital. I prove to be the “Queen Zombie Smasher” on both, and I feel like I’m tougher than Rick on “The Walking Dead.” I need to reload my trench gun right now.

I’m Moving, YAY!

So after an arduous and crazy month long search I’ve found the right apartment for myself and my soon-to-be most awesome puppy in the world Venus! It’s in the Hollywood Hills right by Runyon Canyon, and it’s huge! It’s about 800 square feet, it has a big balcony, and a pool, and it’s super clean. The building itself looks like an old ‘60s James Bond type of place, and I love it. I’m dropping off an application and the fee today. Here’s to the next step!

“Insidious” Is Still Haunting Me!

I want to see it again. I really want to see it badly especially because now all of my friends are talking about it, and I saw it at a screening before it came out a long time ago. However, at the same time, I’m terrified to see it again. The dreams that I had after seeing it still haunt me, and I don’t know if I can handle it, but I’m going to muster up the courage to get my ticket to go see it again. Pray, I make it out okay.

The Buzz Lightyear Ride At Disneyland

I’ve gotten so good at any kinds of video games involving shooting or guns that it’s become a bit of an addiction. However, the fact that I’ve logged so much time behind the gun has made me quite proficient at killing any of my digital foes. That brings me to the Buzz Lightyear ride at Disneyland which is my new favorite ride. Visitors ride around in a little teacup-style spaceship that can be spun with a joystick while they blast away at space villains. It’s so much fun! You’re ranked as well based on how many aliens you blast, and now I’m officially a space ranger! Take that!

Hyraluronic Acid

My face was killing me. I don’t know what happened, but I found a natural and very healthy solution in a tiny bottle at The Vitamin Shoppe. It’s called Hyraluronic Acid and it solved any and all problems I had. I recommend it; it will rejuvenate, revitalize, and reinvigorate your skin.

I Thought I Knew Italian Food

…and then I fell in love with Madeo!  This Beverly Hills hot spot has the best Italian food in the city. It’s a little pricey, but it’s classy elegant and extremely yummy. Pairing spinach ravioli with a nice wine makes for an amazing evening. Plus, the paparazzi camp outside because there’s always someone famous there. Last time, I saw Michelle Rodriguez and Jennifer Tilly. However, I really think the paparazzi were camped outside for me haha.

MAC Attack

I love MAC makeup so much! Every time, I go to one of their stores I leave about $100 poorer. They have the best skin creams as well. I’m able to go there and get the perfect dose of rejuvenation with just the right mix of aesthetically appropriate mascarars, blush, lipstick, gloss, and more. I feel like I’ve been MAC attacked and I love it.

New England Sports Hall of Fame member Charlie Moore is the most recognizable outdoorsman in the U.S. Charlie Moore currently is and has been the host of notable T.V. shows on ESPN and NESN such as Beat Charlie Moore and Charlie Moore Outdoors.  Have you seen Charlie Moore on ESPN or NESN?
